The Patroness of America, Our Lady of Guadalupe
Today, December 12 is our Lady of Guadalupe's feast day! Catholics all over the world celebrate this day with thanksgiving for the graces they have received from Virgin Mary's intercession. The Hispanic communities not just from Mexico are respecting this day.
Here's a true story: there was a man named Jose (not his real name) who was working in the produce good section, incharge of organizing the fruits and vegetables in a small grocery store. He was so devoted to the Blessed Mother of Guadalupe since he was very young. He patiently accepted his life every day, working hard to raise his family from his minimum wage. To make the story short, after a decade of working, he was blessed to own a chain of convenient stores in Northern California himself. Every December 12, he let his employees go home early and close all stores so they could celebrate the feast of our lady of Guadalupe with their families. I happened to know it, because one day I went to one of his stores near my place in California, and one of the employees told me they were closing early that day. With my curiousity, I asked why? Was there any emergency? The lady at the counter told me the owner was a devotee of the Blessed Mother of Guadalupe. Every year he always celebrated her feast day. I also noticed the picture of the Virgin of Guadalupe was displayed in his store. What a beautiful story of someone who is faithful to the Mother of God.
Personally, every time I am in need of something, I run to the Blessed Mother and ask for her intercession too. Every thing I am praying for, if it is God's will, of course, no doubt, when His Blessed Mother is asking for us in our behalf, He grants them.
Here I attached the link to the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
